Spock in Central Park

Today we decided to spend the day in Central Park with Spock. We went there to see Jerry Riveria (famous Salsa singer) perform. We were unable to see the concert so we sat out on the benches with Spock listening to the fabulous music, we even danced a little.

It was a busy day for Spock in the park, people were constantly asking about him or stopping to pet him. It is so wonderful to have such a great dog. We have the opportunity of meeting really nice people with Spock. We met a couple on vacation from Puerto Rico and another couple from Sacramento, California. Not to mention the everyday New Yorkers we chat with about the dog.

People want to take pictures of Spock and with Spock. Spock met another french pup, she was so cute and little. We had a crowd gather around just to take pictures of the two of them together. By the time we got Spock in the car he went right to sleep. It´s so hard being so cute, isn´t it Spock?

Personalized Dog Collar

Since it was a picture perfect day, we decided to take Spock to Belmont Park. On the way to start our walk we met a lovely woman named Gail walking her 3 beautiful dogs. We talked for some time and I noticed that the dogs had names on their collars. I asked her where she purchased the collars and she gave me the website:

http://www.satinstitchesbysue.com/

I just ordered Spock a black collar with white lettering since he´s black and white. Gail informed me that the collars really last and you can throw them in a lingerie bag and wash them. Once the collar arrives, I´ll take a pic of Spock wearing it.

Isn´t his collar fabulous? It arrived in 2 days.

Spock, may you live long and prosper because you truly do make us very happy.

Spock on Vacation

We took Spock on vacation upstate New York. We stayed in a lovely bed & breakfast that took in dogs. When we arrived at the b&b it was just like the pictures on the website but better http://www.creeklocksbedandbreakfast.com/. It was absolutely quaint and homey feeling. We felt very comfortable and welcome by Kate & John who run the b&b. Spock seemed a little frantic at first because he needed to acclimate himself to his new surroundings but he did very well making himself comfortable.

As soon as we arrived we were off to Minnewaska State Park Preserve with Spock. We walked the red trail which was 1.9 miles around the lake. It was hilly, so when Spock would get tired Agui would carry him up the hill and then set him down to walk again. By the end, all three of us were exhausted and we headed back to the b&b to sleep. Spock went right to sleep for the rest of the night.

The next morning we were up and had fabulous buckwheat pancakes with bacon. The food was outstanding. In the morning Spock had a friendly visitor named, Zaida. She is a beautiful rescue dog that had just come from a 6 mile run and still had energy to burn. Zaida ended up wearing out Spock for the rest of the morning.

Since Spock was exhausted after playing we decided to head over to the Vanderbuilt estate. We took the 1 hour tour and headed right back to the b&b to retrieve Spock. Kate told us that he did great and didn´t make a sound. We were so proud of him. He really is a fabulous dog.

Vanderbuilt Estate

Kate & John recommended a wonderful restuarant called, Harvest Café http://www.harvestcafenp.com/ that takes dogs and has a doggie menu. Of course this was a must go to place, pet friendly and a meal, how can you go wrong? The restaurant was lovely, we sat outdoors and they brought a doggie treat for Spock along with water. We ordered chicken for him because that´s his favorite. It was a wonderful little place and it was a great experience for us to be able to have him dine with us.

Overall, I would say Spock had a great vacation as did we.

Hecksher State Park

My husband is on vacation for 2 whole weeks, I´m so happy :) This morning we decided to take Spock to a different park. One that´s further away from the house. We decided to go to Hecksher State Park. We were very excited to go because it is absolutely beautiful outside today. The weather is perfect. We get to the park and find the trail for dogs. Spock was doing a great job trodding along with us. We walked about 15 minutes when we arrived in the shaded area of the trail. My husband and I were being attacked by all the insects in the area. They especially attacked my legs and my husbands neck. We found another dog lover on the trail. We chatted for a bit while the dogs became acquainted. Once he left we decided to head back because we couldn´t take being bitten anymore. We started jogging just to get out of the trail faster. Spock did a great job of keeping up. We decided that the best time to go to Hecksher would be in the fall when all of the insects have died. We spent the rest of the time taking pictures with Spock.

Isn´t he cute?
