You´re in My Bed

Sophie has been with us for almost 2 weeks. The first week Spock ignored her and seemed annoyed but after a week he has started to come around. We couldn´t be happier with this turn of events. Sophie is vivacious and Spock has followed her lead.
Since they´ve been getting along so well, Sophie will sometimes lay in Spocks bed and Spock will sometimes lay in Sophies bed. When Spock lays in Sophies bed it´s really funny because Sophies bed is much smaller than Spocks but that doesn´t seem to matter much, they both climb in together and lay there. We might have to buy Sophie a bigger bed so they can be comfortable. We´re just happy they´re getting along so well.

Now what? Why is Sophie in MY bed?

Are you going to leave?

Nope.

Okay, I guess I´ll just lay on the floor.

Now, I´m going to lay in YOUR bed Sophie.

It´s MY bed, so I´m going to lay in it too.

Why are you in MY bed....again?

Maybe you´re not so bad Sophie, you can stay.

A Morning Walk with Spock

I AM SO EXCITED!!! Today, I received my painting that Dasha customized for me and it came out beautiful. I asked Dasha to make the hair on the girl from the original painting, Morning Walk, curly not straight and to paint Spock with his markings. She sent me a picture of the completed work last Wednesday and I loved it!!

I finally received the painting today, it was wrapped with such care and a card was attached with a personalized note. There was also a pin button with a picture of an adorable Frenchie. I think the extra care and personalized card is the highest form of customer service. I am so happy to have found Dasha and her incredible artwork. Thank you Dasha for taking the time to create such beautiful work and for honoring my request. It means more than you know.

I am going to hang the painting in my bedroom. It will be the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I lay me eyes on before I fall sleep. I can´t explain it but the painting makes me so happy. I love everything about it. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I do.

Special wrapping with personalized card

Isn´t the button cute?!

Spock in the Tub

I´m not a fan of taking baths. I´m a great dog and don´t give my parents any grief but when it comes to the tub, I don´t always want to cooperate. Today, my mom had me pose for some tub pics. I thought I was going to have to take a bath again so I whined a little to let mom know that I didn´t want to but when I didn´t hear the water running, I knew I was safe. Here are some pictures from the photo shoot. I think I look pretty darn cute, what do you think?

Please don´t make me go in there!

This isn´t so bad. Please hurry and take your pictures so I can get out.

Okay, enough is enough I want out of here.

Spock with Friends and Family

Spock with Leslie & Neil (cousin)

Spock and Ruthy (friend)

Spock and Diana (friend)

Since I have had Spock I have had many friends and family come by to meet Spock. All of my friends and family that have come to meet Spock absolutely love him. They love that he´s so mild mannered and sweet. Spock is always happy when people come to visit. They like Spock so much that they call me to see when they can come by to hang out with him. Spock has helped in ensuring that we get to see family and friends more often.

Visiting an old Friend

Karen Jean and Spock

Today we went to visit an old friend of mine named, Karen Jean. We have been friends for the last seven years and had lost touch over the last two years. During my visit, I brought Spock with me. He really liked Karen Jean, especially that she fed him some cheese and bread. He kept following her around while she showed me around the place. We took Spock for a walk along the canal. It was great to see an old friend and catch up. She´s a wonderful person with great energy and I have always enjoyed spending time with her. When we get together we can yap for hours on end. We visited for over 8 hours. We had a great time and so did Spock.

Summer Days

Since we are in the hottest month of summer in New York, I don´t take Spock outside during the day. I walk him first thing in the morning and then in the evening when the weather is much cooler and more bearable. He spends his day either sleeping on the kitchen floor, the carpet, his bed, the couch, following me around or laying on Agui. Spock seems to enjoy his day doing much of nothing and snoring.

Spock at the Doggie Park

This morning we were up nice and early to take Spock to the dog park. We knew it was going to be a hot day so we decided to take him out early. There were a couple of dogs at the park when we arrived but not many. Spock always gets excited when we go to the doggie park. He loves playing with other dogs.

After playing with all the dogs and in the mud for an hour we decided to take him down to the lake so he can cool off and clean up. Spock jumped right into the water. By the time we got home it was time for a bath, Spock was a very dirty little frenchie.

Time for a much needed bath Spock.

Spock in Central Park

Today we decided to spend the day in Central Park with Spock. We went there to see Jerry Riveria (famous Salsa singer) perform. We were unable to see the concert so we sat out on the benches with Spock listening to the fabulous music, we even danced a little.

It was a busy day for Spock in the park, people were constantly asking about him or stopping to pet him. It is so wonderful to have such a great dog. We have the opportunity of meeting really nice people with Spock. We met a couple on vacation from Puerto Rico and another couple from Sacramento, California. Not to mention the everyday New Yorkers we chat with about the dog.

People want to take pictures of Spock and with Spock. Spock met another french pup, she was so cute and little. We had a crowd gather around just to take pictures of the two of them together. By the time we got Spock in the car he went right to sleep. It´s so hard being so cute, isn´t it Spock?

Personalized Dog Collar

Since it was a picture perfect day, we decided to take Spock to Belmont Park. On the way to start our walk we met a lovely woman named Gail walking her 3 beautiful dogs. We talked for some time and I noticed that the dogs had names on their collars. I asked her where she purchased the collars and she gave me the website:

http://www.satinstitchesbysue.com/

I just ordered Spock a black collar with white lettering since he´s black and white. Gail informed me that the collars really last and you can throw them in a lingerie bag and wash them. Once the collar arrives, I´ll take a pic of Spock wearing it.

Isn´t his collar fabulous? It arrived in 2 days.

Spock, may you live long and prosper because you truly do make us very happy.

Spock on Vacation

We took Spock on vacation upstate New York. We stayed in a lovely bed & breakfast that took in dogs. When we arrived at the b&b it was just like the pictures on the website but better http://www.creeklocksbedandbreakfast.com/. It was absolutely quaint and homey feeling. We felt very comfortable and welcome by Kate & John who run the b&b. Spock seemed a little frantic at first because he needed to acclimate himself to his new surroundings but he did very well making himself comfortable.

Kate and myself on the back porch with Spock and Indy.

As soon as we arrived we were off to Minnewaska State Park Preserve with Spock. We walked the red trail which was 1.9 miles around the lake. It was hilly, so when Spock would get tired Agui would carry him up the hill and then set him down to walk again. By the end, all three of us were exhausted and we headed back to the b&b to sleep. Spock went right to sleep for the rest of the night.

The next morning we were up and had fabulous buckwheat pancakes with bacon. The food was outstanding. In the morning Spock had a friendly visitor named, Zaida. She is a beautiful rescue dog that had just come from a 6 mile run and still had energy to burn. Zaida ended up wearing out Spock for the rest of the morning.

Since Spock was exhausted after playing we decided to head over to the Vanderbuilt estate. We took the 1 hour tour and headed right back to the b&b to retrieve Spock. Kate told us that he did great and didn´t make a sound. We were so proud of him. He really is a fabulous dog.

Vanderbuilt Estate

Kate & John recommended a wonderful restuarant called, Harvest Café http://www.harvestcafenp.com/ that takes dogs and has a doggie menu. Of course this was a must go to place, pet friendly and a meal, how can you go wrong? The restaurant was lovely, we sat outdoors and they brought a doggie treat for Spock along with water. We ordered chicken for him because that´s his favorite. It was a wonderful little place and it was a great experience for us to be able to have him dine with us.

Overall, I would say Spock had a great vacation as did we.

Hecksher State Park

My husband is on vacation for 2 whole weeks, I´m so happy :) This morning we decided to take Spock to a different park. One that´s further away from the house. We decided to go to Hecksher State Park. We were very excited to go because it is absolutely beautiful outside today. The weather is perfect. We get to the park and find the trail for dogs. Spock was doing a great job trodding along with us. We walked about 15 minutes when we arrived in the shaded area of the trail. My husband and I were being attacked by all the insects in the area. They especially attacked my legs and my husbands neck. We found another dog lover on the trail. We chatted for a bit while the dogs became acquainted. Once he left we decided to head back because we couldn´t take being bitten anymore. We started jogging just to get out of the trail faster. Spock did a great job of keeping up. We decided that the best time to go to Hecksher would be in the fall when all of the insects have died. We spent the rest of the time taking pictures with Spock.

Isn´t he cute?
